Velocity


Velocity USA is a performance aluminum rim manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that manufactures rims and accessories for anyone passionate about bikes! Our rim extrusion is sourced from Profile Precision Extrusions in Arizona, and we roll, drill, anodize, build and distribute our rims and wheels from our factory. Velocity USA employs 14 individuals year-round, and we take pride in providing high-quality, hand-crafted products made in the US that we love and use ourselves.

Velocity was founded by Tom Black, just outside of Brisbane, Australia, in 1989. Our first product was an adjustable aluminum water bottle cage called the ‘Velocage’. It was such a clever and simple design that sales spread outside of Australia to the United States by way of Tom’s brother, John Black.

After over 25 years, Velocity USA is still the small business of its early days, owned by Tom Black and John’s wife of 30 years, Linda, and continues to strive to be ‘The best name to ride with’. Our dedicated staff, many of whom have been here for over 10 years, is in for the long haul and our mission will always remain the same.
